THE CLIENT

For more than 50 years, Anglian has been at the forefront of the nation’s home improvement industry. It offers an extensive range of products including double-glazed windows and doors, conservatories and orangeries. Based in Norwich, Anglian has a network of showrooms across the UK and is committed to its “local to you” ethos.

THE CHALLENGE

Anglian Home Improvements needed a new distribution depot and area sales office based on the South Coast. The old depot at Portsmouth was at the end of lease and the company acquired a large warehouse and a ground and first-floor office at the iO Centre in Fareham. The existing space was tired and open plan which did not allow for sales calls or for areas of privacy.

THE SOLUTION

FLR Interiors, in partnership with Malcolm Hollis, developed a reconfiguration of the existing office space on the ground and first floors which were arranged to have a dedicated boardroom, two director’s offices, meeting space on the first floor and warehousing storeroom. Our Mechanical and Electrical team installed a dedicated electrical supply to the IT server, as well as installing new data and power sockets to the new offices and meeting spaces.
We also installed new internal emergency lighting to the main office areas and high-level lighting in the warehouse.

THE OUTCOME

In less than 3 weeks, FLR Interiors installed 3 new glass-fronted offices, new partition walls and flooring and a new oak floor to the reception area. FLR Interiors created a new space for a business that allowed large groups to conference in privacy, making three executive offices and establishing a warehouse to hold high-value stock. This allowed the client to transfer their staff without incurring additional costs and allowed them to commence trading
immediately without interruptions in their business activity. The whole project was completed in two weeks, five days ahead of schedule.
